Spinning Off The Retrograde
Have I mentioned lately it’s Mercury Retrograde? No? Well it is!
It started on February 6th and is on till the 28th, so we are almost at the end of it, but since every retrograde is not just the 3 weeks when the planet goes “backwards”, it’s also the 2 weeks of approach and 2 weeks of retrieval, thus we are really talking about 5 weeks of “best laid plans often going down the toilet”.
When a planet enters a retrograde period, it’s not really that it goes backwards, but the rotation is slowing down to the point that it appears to be so. Each planet governs its own area, and when it goes into retrograde, it’s best not to start anything new in that particular field, but it is recommended that you slow down, review and reassess the area in question. Thus if it’s Venus retrograde (which we just had up until January 31st), it’s recommended that you review all your relationships, not just romantic, partnerships and friendships while entering a new connection may be difficult or even impossible at that time. Also don’t schedule any cosmetic procedures or do anything beauty related during Venus retrograde, you may not like or even regret the results.
Mercury is a planet of communication, travel, technology and basically ensuring everything goes smoothly and as per plan. So when it’s in retrograde, don’t sign any important agreements, start new contracts or negotiations (including marriage), and if communication is problematic, travel goes wrong, technology breaks down, and plans change, just blame it on Mercury (and be patient of course).
And right after Mercury, Mars enters its retrograde. Mars is a planet of power, energy, stamina, court cases and other powerful manifestations. During the retrograde watch out for power struggles, anger flare ups, arguments or restless energy. Mars will be in retrograde almost till the end of May.
Therefore with all three retrogrades one after another, kids, hang on, it’s gonna be a long bumpy ride!
Which is exactly how it felt this weekend – like all three retrogrades happening to me simultaneously. Starting Friday morning, nothing ever went right, so sitting now counting the hours till the end of Sunday seems like a very good idea. And it could’ve been just the opposite, a start of such gorgeous warm weather weekend, but no, not to me!
Friday morning greeted me with fog, drizzle and frantically looking for my favorite sapphire earrings (which I later found but not till I almost had a coronary that I’ve lost my favorite keepsake jewelry). And that made me late for my morning bus, and then another bus just passed me by without even stopping (jerk!) that happened to be the last bus going to the city… By that time I was too pissed to take a local bus to the subway (and then 2 trains and a city crosstown) so I just took a different bus and later the slowest bus on Earth M23, therefore I didn’t get to work till 10:30 that morning. I start at 8… And that was just the beginning of a “fun” filled weekend…
So, kids, you are not getting pretty food pictures or tasty recipes today. The girl is too pissed, too tired and too stressed to make anything appetizing.
And she is too busy snacking on mortadella and cinnamon almond cacao. Yep, I know, a very weird combo, but I was the queen of strange foods during my pregnancy, cream cheese and pickles sandwich was my favorite (can still eat it). So cacao and mortadella sound just about perfect as a stress remedy.
See you next time!
